I don’t want to look frumpy!

For many of us we like to feel comfortable in our clothes.

But for so many, comfort ends up equating with ugly or frumpy and definitely not stylish! Yet client after clients tell me that  they would love to look stylish. It’s knowing and be comfortable with your body shape and learn how best to dress it. Understand the importance of skirt and jacket lengths and styles to enhance your figure and camouflage your ‘ challenge’ bits.

Some of the most common frumpy pitfalls?

  • Wearing skirts, dresses and 7/8 length trousers at your ‘widest’ part of your leg below your knees. Particularly if you have short legs.
  • A long jacket with a long skirt, this instantly makes you look wider and shorter.
  • Trousers with cluffs, as not many of us can wear this style, as it will shorten us hugely.
  • Bulky chunky knitwear, will add weight. Yes those cable knit cardigans are warm, but they also won’t make you look stylish (unless you’re a 6 foot supermodel).
  • Look for fine wool fabrics, and layer fine layers. (it really can make a huge difference).
  • Shoes that a clumpy and too chunky. Have a full length mirror, you may not realise that your shoes are letting you down and taking you to Frumpy Town!
